ARIK BAMBIR

Today I want to tell you about my best teacher, a good friend, a good man, and a wonderful musician who plays many different instruments. He has been playing in the rock group Bambir since the time when he was nine and at the age of 16 he traveled around the world with the group. He is interested in Armenian folk music and teaches different children how to perform Armenian folk songs. In the TUMO he is a music teacher and he conducts a workshop which is called ““Թմբա-թա” The level of sounds” and in this workshop he tells us about folk music, and how great folk music is. Besides, he talks about a sound and how we can use it. In our workshop we use different sounds for example the sound of iron, and we make music of these sounds.
Arik also plays in different PUBs and in different festivals. He plays folk songs and his own songs. In the Bambir he plays the flute, and I think that he is the best flute player in Armenia. He can make many different sounds on the flute and he does many different tricks on it. Every time I learn more and more from my teacher and he always will be my favorite elder friend.
